Located in front of Lake Biwa, the biggest Lake in Japan, the largest habitat for wild birds in Shiga prefecture. Just bring yourself and enjoy bird watching with scopes and binoculars set up looking over the water to where all the birds are.
Biwako Waterfowl & Wetland Center is also attached to the center, imparting easy understanding of not only the wild birds and nature but also history and scenery of Lake Biwa, internationally recognized as a Ramsar Site.
Lots of wild birds come to the Kohoku Waterfowl Park, just ahead of the center year-round. 52 families and 246 types of birds have been found by the center, they are over 70% of all the found birds in the prefecture.
